Police Officers
Chief Timothy O'Grady - Serving Since 1994
Tim graduated from the Niagara County Law Enforcement Academy. In
1994, he was appointed as a
part-time Patrolman. The following year, Tim was appointed to a
full-time position. In 2000, he attained the rank of Sergeant and
was
appointed Chief of Police in 2006. Tim's departmental assignments
have
included firearms instructor, general topics instructor, field training
officer, and bicycle patrol. He was a team leader of the
county's tactical team, dubbed ALERT (Allegany Law Enforcement Response
Team) and has had a wide range of tactical training. In addition,
Tim has
other various certifications and specialized training to his credit.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Buffalo State College and
an Associate of Science Degree from the Community College of the Finger
Lakes. He is currently a member of the International Association
of Chiefs of Poilce, New York State Association of Chiefs of Police and
the Western New York Association of Chiefs of Police.
Sergeant Robert Billings -
Serving Since 1990
Rob was appointed as a full-time Patrolman in 1990 and went to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's
Academy. In 1997, Rob was promoted to the rank of
Sergeant/Investigator. Rob was the lead investigator and supervised all
departmental investigations until 2006. In addition to his supervisory
duties as the Senior Sergeant, Rob serves as the supervisor for the
departments field training program. Rob has numerous other
certifications and specialized training to his credit. Rob also works
part-time for the Independence Police Department as the
Officer-in-Charge.
Sergeant/Investigator Paul Griffith - Serving Since
1996
Paul graduated from the Southern Tier Law
Enforcement Academy. In 1996, he was appointed as a part-time Patrolman.
In 1997, he accepted a full-time position with the City of Hornell
Police
Department and in 1998 he accepted a transfer back from Hornell to Alfred as
a full-time Patrolman. In 2006 Paul was promoted to the rank of
Sergeant/Investigator and took over all of the investigative duties
from Sergeant Billings. Paul's departmental assignments include
firearms instructor, general topics instructor, training coordinator, field training officer,
bicycle patrol, warrant officer, former ALERT officer and serves as the terminal agency
coordinator for various state law enforcement computer programs. Paul has numerous other
certifications and specialized
training to his credit and holds an Associate of Science Degree from
Vermilion Community College in Minnesota.

Tory Rounds - Serving Since 1997
Tory graduated from the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy. In 1997,
he was appointed as a part-time Patrolman and in 1998 he was
appointed to
full-time status. Tory's departmental assignments include bicycle
patrol, field training officer, DWI and Vehicle & Traffic
Coordinator, and he is a former ALERT officer. In addition, Tory has
numerous other certifications and
specialized training to his credit. Tory attended Corning
Community College and serves as a part-time Police Officer for the
Angelica, Wellsville and Willing Police
Departments.
Patrolman Bert Currier - Serving Since 2004
Bert
graduated from the Rural Police Training Institute. He was
appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2004 and was appointed to full
time status in 2006. Bert's departmental assignments include
bicycle patrol and property custodian. Bert also serves as a part-time Police Officer
for the Wellsville Police Department.
Patrolman Percy J. Sherman
- Serving Since 2004
P.J. graduated from the Rural Police Training Institute. He was
appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2004. In 2007, PJ
transferred from the Steuben County Sheriff's Office to accept a
full-time position with Alfred. P.J. served in the United States Marine
Corps and Air Force with tours in Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
He has also served as Chief of the
Whitesville Fire Department, as an Allegany County Deputy Fire
Coordinator and Captain of the Independence Emergency Squad. P.J.
is also a
part-time Police Officer for the Andover, Angelica and Wellsville
Police
Departments.

James Rumfelt - Serving Since 2000
Jim was appointed as a Part-time Patrolman in 2000. He serves full time
as the Officer-in-Charge for the Andover Police Department.

Josh was appointed as a part-time
Patrolman in 2000. He serves full time as a police officer for the Wellsville Police Department.

John Dougherty - Serving Since 2002
John was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2002. He works full time
for Alfred University as the Director of the Public
Safety Department.

B.J. was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2002. He serves
full time for the Cuba Police Department and part-time for the
Wellsville Police Department.

Matt was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2005. He works
full time for the Alfred University Public Safety Department.

Wayne was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2005. Full time, Wayne owns and operates Minges Flooring in Olean.
Patrolwoman Erin Robinson - Serving Since 2006
Erin was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2006. She serves
full time as a Deputy for the Steuben County Sheriff's Office.
Patrolman Mark Woodworth - Serving Since 2006
Mark was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2006. He serves
full time as a police officer for the Alfred State College University Police Department.
